Our Seance was born out of fascination and inspiration with Milan Kundera’s book IMMORTALITY and the works of Francesca Woodman, a brilliant photographer and performer who made the knowledge of the Being, transparent as a photographic film, the meaning of both her short life and her sudden, self-chosen death.<\/span><\/div>\n

The screening featured the song „Lament” (based on Dido’s Lament from H. Purcell’s opera „Dido and Aeneas”) performed by the Tiger Lillies (music by Martyn Jacques, lyrics by Monika Wachowicz), the song „Forever Together” by the Tiger Lillies, as well as Santa Maria by Mireille Mathieu and the Introit Missa Vultum Tuum by the Corsican band Tempus Fugit.<\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/span><\/div>\n
Furthermore, original audio recordings were used: „End of God’s Judgment” by Antonin Artaud and „Psalm” by Paul Celan (read by the author), as well as Cesare Pavese’s poem „Death Will Come and Have Your Eyes” translated by Jaros\u0142aw Miko\u0142ajewski, and excerpts from Milan Kundera’s novel „Immortality.” The set design\/installation was created by the team of the Jerzy Grotowski Institute: Piotr Jacyk, Daniel Dyniszuk, Maciej M\u0105dry, Jacek Siczek, and Andrzej Walada.<\/span><\/div>\n
